A group-directed itinerary of explorations into the expansive world of natural dyes. This term we will use some of the dyed fabric and thread samples we’ve made previously. Each month will be a different small project such as shibori stitching, piecing a small bag or mat, using the contact print and anthotype papers to create small book or box structures, etc. We will also have a “canning jar” set up to dye threads and small bits on the deck each month. Students are welcome to bring additional thread/yarn for the dyepots, 10-25g skeins.
This course is a self-directed and continuous study group; while we build upon previous experience, adventurous beginners are always welcome!
